We may collect personal information about trustees and other individuals using SuperFu directly; representatives of partner firms using Auder Partners; and individuals whose details are entered or uploaded in connection with SMSF applications, administration, documents or support. Where you provide information about another person, you should ensure they are aware of this statement and that you are authorised to provide their information.

Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect: identity and contact details (such as name, email, phone and address); account and security information (such as login credentials, authenticator settings and recovery contact details); SMSF and onboarding details (such as member, trustee, director, fund, tax, bank and rollover information); documents you upload or generate (such as trust deeds, strategies, declarations and financial records); payment and transaction references where you pay for services; marketing and lead information (such as early-access or readiness-review submissions); communications with our support team; and technical information (such as device, browser, IP address, log and usage data). Some information we collect is sensitive (for example tax file numbers or health information only if you choose to provide it in a document). We collect sensitive information only where you provide it to us for a service you request and where permitted by law.

How we collect information

We collect information when you submit forms, create or use an account, complete onboarding, upload documents, use AI-assisted features, pay for services, contact us, subscribe to updates, or interact with our websites and applications. We may also collect information from partner firms authorised to work on an application, and from service providers that help us operate our services (for example email delivery, payments, e-signature or cloud hosting).

Why we use information

We use personal information to provide, operate and improve our services; process SMSF setup and administration workflows; authenticate users and protect accounts; communicate with you about applications, security, service updates and support; analyse product usage and marketing performance; comply with law and respond to regulators or courts where required; and manage complaints, disputes and fraud prevention.

When we disclose information

We may disclose personal information to service providers that help us deliver our services (such as hosting, email, payments, electronic signing, analytics and AI document processing), to professional or referral partners where you ask us to coordinate a service, to your authorised partner firm, and to regulators, law enforcement or other parties where required or authorised by law. We require service providers to handle information appropriately for the services they perform for us. We do not sell your personal information.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers may store or process information outside Australia (for example in the United States or other countries where their infrastructure is located). Where we disclose information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure recipients handle it in line with applicable privacy law, such as contractual protections. If you would like more detail about overseas locations relevant to your use of our services, contact us.

Storage and security

We store information in secure systems with access controls, encryption where appropriate, and monitoring designed to protect against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; you are responsible for keeping your account credentials and devices safe.

Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide our services, meet our legal and regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. SMSF-related records may need to be kept for extended periods under tax, superannuation and audit requirements even after you stop using SuperFu. When information is no longer required, we take steps to delete or de-identify it, subject to lawful retention limits.

Your rights

You may request access to or correction of personal information we hold about you, subject to exceptions under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). To make a request, contact us at the email above. We will respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Cookies and analytics

Our websites may use cookies and similar technologies to remember preferences, keep sessions secure, and understand how pages are used. Where analytics tools (such as product analytics) are enabled, they may collect usage events and technical identifiers. You can adjust browser settings to limit cookies; some features may not work if essential cookies are disabled.

We may send you service, onboarding or product information by email where you have provided your address or consented to receive updates. You can opt out of marketing messages using the unsubscribe link in an email or by contacting us. We may still send messages about your application, account or legal notices even if you opt out of marketing.
